Dr. Elizabeth McLean of the University of Arizona’s Eller School of Management will share her research on bottom-up change with the AzHREF community. In this presentation, she will explore questions like: Why do some employees speak up with ideas for change and others don’t? How do leaders create a context that facilitates employees speaking up? What are the consequences to individual performance and career outcomes for those who are willing to speak up? What are the consequences for collective work units when their employees speak up- are employees more motivated and does the unit perform better? And last, what can you do to foster bottom-up change within your own organization?

The Garden’s Performance Development and Feedback Process @ Desert Botanical Garden, Webster Auditorium

The Desert Botanical Garden developed Advancing Excellence in 2016 and implemented it for its 2017 fiscal year. The new performance development and feedback process was created by an internal design team with the help of an outside consultant, resulting in performance competencies that are specific to the Garden’s strategic values and employee goals that cascade from the Garden’s business goals. In this presentation you will learn the step-by-step flow of the design process, how competencies and goals are structured and rated, the process for selecting the on-line vendor, and the communication and implementation steps taken to ensure this process will be a success.

The presentation will provide employers and brokers with an understanding of the top 10 mistakes employers make which allow for FMLA abuse.

St. Mary’s Food Box Distribution @ Knight Transportation Distribution Center

St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance distributes 40,000 Emergency Food Boxes, at no cost, to individuals and families in need each month. A majority of those receiving Emergency Food Boxes includes the elderly, children, working families and the homeless.

TruPath is helping St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance clients by loading a cart of food and assisting them to their vehicle at the Knight Transportation Distribution Center. This is an incredible opportunity to give back as a team.
