Join Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and Save Lives!

“Nearly 250,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. That could be your mother, sister, daughter, your wife, or even you. We hold Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events so anyone touched by breast cancer won’t have to face their diagnosis alone. We do it to raise awareness and money to fund research, support services, and early detection. We hold Making Strides events to save lives.” – JOIN HERE

Objectives:

What to expect while you attend:
Each member is given the opportunity to give the group information on their company, upcoming events and current promotions. Members pass out business cards and share other literature and information. Each week, a fifteen minute speaker from the group shares a presentation on their business to help identify good leads and referrals for them.

This year, WESTMARC celebrates its 25th Anniversary Best of the West awards competition.  It began in 1993 as a way to recognize outstanding contributions to the image, lifestyle, and economic development of the West Valley.

During the event, WESTMARC will announce West Valley award winners in three categories:
Economic Engine, Quality of Life Enhancement, and Excellence in Innovation.

About the project:

Valley Partnership is hosting its 30th annual Community Project this year – The Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s Phoenix Urban Farm.  For the past few years, St. Vincent’s has been operating an urban farm near their campus in downtown Phoenix, on the Human Services Campus.  The one-acre farm grows fruits and vegetables that are used to feed families in their community kitchen and they are distributed in food boxes for families to prepare at home.  As the recipient of Valley Partnership’s 30th community project, St. Vincent’s believes that the enhancement of the Urban Farm will further their mission.  

 

Valley Partnership’s initial plans to improve the urban garden will include installing an irrigation system, electricity, adding shade to allow for an extended growing season, and planting.  Raised planter beds, an outdoor classroom, meditation area, site furniture, fruit-bearing trees, and signage for the farm have also been requested.
