After working eight years in retail management in my home state of Delaware, I was ready for a change. I’d decided to take a leap and move to Phoenix, trading my winter snow for sunshine.
In 2013 I flew 2,300 miles cross-country to find my forever home and career. Shortly thereafter, I enrolled at ASU in Health Sciences, planning to go to nursing school. After attempting to get into the extremely competitive program (twice), I decided that nursing ultimately wasn’t for me and pursued Health Policy. I graduated in 2016.
Prior to graduation, I was focusing strictly on a finding a career in healthcare administration. One night while applying to various positions, I came across something different, a LinkedIn ad for an associate recruiter position with TruPath.
I hadn’t had any experience with recruiters previously and knew nothing about the industry. I did, however, know that I loved interviewing people and working with our new hires, so I applied for the job.
Ryan McKellips gave me a call and when he talked more about TruPath. I was excited about the opportunity. He set up an interview for me with Rick Gonzales and Lauren Gallagher, and the rest is history!
Being a recruiter has allowed me to connect what I love most about healthcare, helping people, to a totally different career that I’m equally passionate about. I’m now attending Grand Canyon University in pursuit of an MBA (Emphasis in Strategic Human Resources Management).
When I’m not busy with schoolwork, I love to travel. Driving out to SoCal to hang out at Disneyland and the beach with my brother and friends is one of my favorite ways to spend a weekend!
“Knowing that you can rely on your team to get things done helps build trust within the team. Trust is formed when both parties are open and honest in their communication. I strive to build trust with our clients and candidates every day through open and honest communication.”
“Advocating for our clients means working in their best interest and being fully service-minded. Depending on our clients’ various needs, we are here to provide a range of services that make their hiring process as stress-free as possible.”
“Community partnership means to be actively engaged in our community. This may be through fundraising walks, or just getting out in the community and meeting people through job fairs, career events, or my alumni association. Getting involved and letting the community know we are here and care is important!”
“There are frequent opportunities to grow and learn every day at TruPath. Whether it’s from a webinar, an answer from another recruiter, or something that comes up with a candidate over the phone, I’m constantly challenged to learn and grow each day.”
