GPEC is Greater Phoenix’s economic development engine. The organization’s public-private partnership has individuals from Maricopa County, its 22 member communities, and private investors across Greater Phoenix involved in attracting businesses to the region.
Recently, GPEC was named a top regional economic development group in the 2018 Mac Conway Awards for Excellence in Economic Development for the second year in a row. GPEC’s President and CEO, Chris Camacho, says, “It is an incredible honor to be recognized as a top economic development organization nationally, and is emblematic of the dedication of our staff, the collaboration with the business community, and the regionalism exhibited by the mayors and county supervisors in Greater Phoenix.”
GPEC Ambassador Program:
There are multiple levels of investment with GPEC: Ambassador Council, Leadership Council, Executive Council, and Chairman’s Council. Entry-level investment at the Ambassador Council level provides eligibility into GPEC’s Ambassador Program. Employees of participating companies can sign up as an Ambassador and encourage economic growth for the Greater Phoenix region.
The Ambassador Program provides networking and educational opportunities for the employees of participating communities and organizations. Ambassador events include activities such as asset tours, economic development forums and educational presentations.
On 5/30/18, GPEC Ambassadors toured Boeing and saw AH-64 Apache assembly in real-time. Did you know Apache’s are made in Mesa, Arizona?
Touring facilities like Boeing helps educate Ambassadors on current Arizona assets. Education allows Ambassadors to share their knowledge with the community by offering perspective, making key connections, and participating in issues that affect business attraction and expansion.
