TruPath Places General Manager

The Client’s Need:

TruPath received a request from a family-owned steel fabrication shop searching for a General Manager. This family-owned shop has been in business for over 30 years! The Owners were finally ready to step away from the day-to-day business to spend more time with family. Our client was seeking a General Manager to run the shop and field crews. This General Manager position is very involved. It requires knowledge of structural steel, estimating, supervision, financial management, and project management.  

TruPath’s Strategy:

TruPath Recruiters started this search looking for structural steel talent in the local area.  Quickly, they extended the search to the entire state of Florida after the local search yielded very little talent. TruPath Recruiters interviewed over a dozen candidates and narrowed the candidate list to the top two individuals who would be best suited for the role.   

The Result of Partnership:

Both TruPath candidates received a 3-hour face-to-face interview with the Owners. One of the candidates stood out in particular as an excellent match in skills, personality, and fit well into the “family” culture of the business. He also lives about an hour from the shop! The candidate had recent project management experience with structural steel and was an Operations Manager in a different industry. 

Currently, the Owners are excited to be on the road more – spending valuable time with family. Our candidate is excited to run and continue growing the family business.
