This installment of our Employee Spotlight features Robyn Neilson! Robyn is a near-veteran of Trupath, celebrating five years with the company in December 2017.

Hometown: Phoenix, AZ
How did you find out about TruPath? The current General Manager at TruPath, Rick, was a co-worker of mine at a previous job. He took me out to lunch to get my input on what they should be looking for in an accounting role. I, of course, gave him honest feedback, and in the end, I was who and what they needed for that role.
Favorite thing about what I do? I love building spreadsheets and writing formulas to streamline work, while also producing necessary data quickly.
I enjoy working at TruPath because? I truly like my coworkers and my boss. When you enjoy who you work with, a job feels less like a job, and more enjoyable. I am also extremely appreciative that I can work remotely most times. And the times I come into the office? I bring my sweet social butterfly of a dog, Bella, who loves giving everyone kisses and taking their snacks from them.

What advice do you have for an aspiring Accounting Manager? Aside from a degree in Accounting and gaining experience in an accounting job, having an advanced understanding of Excel (both in Microsoft and Google Spreadsheets), as well as some basic coding knowledge (understanding formulas and how software is built), can really add value to your position, as well as to your company. Strive to be nerdy and learn all that techy stuff.
The most challenging part of my role is? When there is a communication breakdown. Communication is soooo important.
One thing people don’t know about me? I am mostly ambidextrous. I do some things equally with either hand and other things I will do better with my left or better with my right.
I am awesome because? I’m trustworthy, friendly, and have a big heart.
My first vehicle was? Pontiac Sunfire
My happy place… My husband and me, playing with our son at the park on an overcast and cloudy day (about 65 degrees), surrounded by pizza and pizza cookies 🙂
Above all others, this person inspires me the most? As corny as this sounds, my husband has become the one who inspires me the most. He has inspired me to live a mostly healthy lifestyle, to be even more financially savvy than I was before, and to continue to be the best mom in the world to our son.
My favorite food is? Pho (Vietnamese soup)
